We began to include our team members in our success by doing the following.
August 2020
Capitol Floats is donated a portion of sales to non-profits who provide safety, services and support to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking in Placer County and Sacramento County, respectively. Our non-profits this year are Stand Up Placer and A Community for Peace.
Float for a Cause
2021
A major part of wellness is nutrition, and nutrition starts with healthy, balanced soil. Without healthy soil, we can’t grow healthy plants. Without healthy plants, our own health suffers. Soil health is key to adjusting to issues of climate change and nutrition deficiency; this is why we felt soil regeneration had to be our next focus. Soil Born Farms’ Urban Agriculture and Education Project does just that. They focus on urban farming through the lens of soil health and replenishment. They practice and teach regenerative methods like crop rotation. They also offer adult and child education in these methods, as well as in growing and cooking nutritious food, and more. 20% of our Float for a Cause campaign will go to Soil Born and its forward-thinking efforts.
